Mango

Mango: Mango Man!

Mango is the oldest monkey here at The Monkey Living Center—he turned 40 in 2023. He’s been placed two times, and his first placement lasted 15 years! Mango has a special bond with his handler, Doug, because they are the same age—they were born the same year in the same month!

They love spending quiet moments together in the playroom. He loves to lounge with his whole body stretched out. He’ll give Doug his hand or foot to hold while he relaxes. Even though he loves to relax, he also loves to play and flirt with other monkeys, or with other staff. Mango especially loves to flirt with Alison, the Director of Monkey Care, who happens to be Doug’s wife!

Doug and Alison will tell you that he gives the best hugs! As for bath time, Mango doesn’t love it, but he tolerates it well. He stands up straight in the tub and holds onto the faucet while Doug scrubs him. His favorite part is eating the bubbles!
