About Us

Our service monkeys are provided at no cost to our recipients.

Animal Husbandry Volunteer

Helping Hands offers a volunteer and internship program for individuals sixteen years and older.

Volunteers and interns are an integral part of Helping Hands, assisting with husbandry, diet, and enrichment care for our monkeys. There is no opportunity to handle or train the monkeys, but assistants have the one-of-a-kind opportunity to work near our capuchin service animals and learn more about their personalities and behavior.

Volunteers and interns are selected on a rolling basis in accordance with our staffing needs. We require a three-month commitment and shifts are available in four-hour blocks between the hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Volunteers are asked to volunteer one shift per week and interns work multiple shifts per week.
