Erica joined the Helping Hands team in 2011 as the Development and Communication Associate and brings with her over ten years of fundraising, communication, event planning, and graphic design experience. After graduating from Bennington College with a degree in photography and music, she moved to Boston in 1999 to begin a career in the nonprofit world. She spent nine years in the development department at Facing History and Ourselves before taking over as Executive Director of the New England String Ensemble. She was thrilled to stumble across Helping Hands and put her love of animals together with her passion for helping people.
Erica loves to photograph the monkeys who are training at The Monkey College as often as possible. Outside of the office, Erica enjoys baking, roasting (and drinking) coffee, and spending time with her family, friends, and cat.
